Position: Electrical Design Engineer / Senior Design Engineer

Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer within the Plug and Play team, you’ll develop innovative electrical systems and solutions from concept through to detailed design. You’ll work closely with multi‑disciplinary teams to create standardised, modular systems that are safe, efficient, and future‑ready.

  • Driving the electrical design process, including specifications, optioneering, and detailed design.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into robust solutions.
  • Supporting early‑stage commissioning planning and ensuring designs meet regulatory and operational standards.
  • Continuously improving standard designs based on feedback, risk assessments, and performance data.
  • Ensuring seamless integration between product design, framework suppliers and site implementation teams.
Qualifications

We are looking for a design‑focused electrical engineer with a passion for infrastructure and innovation. You’ll bring:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline and/or a minimum of 5 years proven experience in electrical design.
  • Familiarity with CAD and digital electrical design tools.
  • Understanding of H&S and risk management in engineering design.
  • An innovative and collaborative mindset with the ability to influence stakeholders to drive practical, effective solutions.
  • Flexibility to travel between sites throughout the UK on an ad‑hoc basis as projects demand.
