Role Overview
Senior Civil/Structural Design Engineer working within our Plug & Play team.
What You’ll Be Doing- Lead and develop civil/structural designs with focus on foundations, reinforced concrete, steel structures and support for modular assets.
- Deliver solutions from concept to detailed design, including structural calculations, checks, and design assurance.
- Use CAD and digital tools, structural analysis and design software, and office tools.
- Review and challenge designs from external consultants and ensure compliance with Eurocodes, British Standards, and project specifications.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, contractors and suppliers, ensuring designs are buildable, safe and suited to site conditions.
- Identify and manage structural and construction risks, ensuring designs meet health & safety (CDM), constructability and durability requirements.
Provide pragmatic, problem‑solving input to complex engineering challenges.
Innovation & Standardisation- Contribute to developing repeatable/standard design products and design manuals.
- Design for optimisation toward the limits of standards to improve design based on lessons learned, performance and cost efficiency.
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Significant experience in structural design, especially foundations, ground‑bearing systems, reinforced concrete slabs and structural elements for infrastructure projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Eurocodes, UK design standards, structural analysis and design tools.
- Experience reviewing and coordinating consultant designs.
- Proven ability to solve problems and drive practical solutions.
Ideally a Senior Engineer, though strong Advanced Engineers will also be considered.

- Experience in water, wastewater or infrastructure sectors.
- Exposure to standardised or modular design approaches.

- Chartered or working towards (ICE or IStruct
E). - Experience supporting cost optimisation or value engineering.
