Junior EMC Test Engineer
This role is focused on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing and validation
, supporting the development of next-generation vehicles, including electric and autonomous platforms.
- Support and conduct EMC and electromagnetic test activities on vehicle systems and components
- Assist in test setup, execution, and reporting
- Work with internal and external test facilities
- Analyse EMC test data and results
- Identify non-compliance issues and support root cause analysis
- Produce clear technical reports and documentation
- Support testing in line with automotive EMC standards and regulations
- Ensure all activities meet safety, quality, and compliance requirements
- Work closely with engineering, validation, and supplier teams
- Support issue resolution and continuous improvement activities
- 2–5 years’ experience
- Exposure to EMC testing, electromagnetic principles, or lab-based testing
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
- Interest in automotive / vehicle systems
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering
, or equivalent military experience.
- Exposure to automotive EMC standards (e.g. CISPR 25, ISO 11452, ISO 7637)
- Experience working in an EMC test lab environment (internship, placement, or university projects)
- Familiarity with test equipment such as spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes, antennas, and RF amplifiers
- Basic understanding of vehicle electrical systems / CAN / LIN networks
- Knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g. Excel, MATLAB, Python)
- Experience with test reporting and documentation
- Awareness of root cause analysis techniques for test failures
- Exposure to electric vehicle or high-voltage systems (nice to have)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with test procedures and standards
- Good communication skills when working with cross-functional teams
