Working hours: 36 Hours per week 4- or 5-day week depending on preference
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum depending on experience

MTC has facilities in Coventry, Liverpool, and Oxford and is part of the UK’s High Value Manufacturing Catapult, supported by Innovate UK.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Advanced Technician to join our growing team in Coventry. The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of technical projects, work packages and deliverables in material development technologies. The candidate will support daily operations of material development technologies, using a wide range of equipment for processing and inspection to support research themes within the MTC and clients.
Mainresponsibilities
- Support the programme's technical deliverables under guidance of programme delivery team.
- Work independently to troubleshoot and problem solve maintenance tasks that could impact project delivery.
- Support engineers and customers with carrying out parameter analysis.
- Use existing materials knowledge relating to powder metallurgy and ceramics to support daily operations.
- Liaise with and collaborate closely with the customer, always acting with professionalism.
- Operate machinery within the workshop environment and adapt to learn new skills when required.
- Support technical liaison with customer during project delivery.
- Own career development through mentoring, coaching and training courses.
- Adhere to MTC’s Health and Safety policies in full.
- Adopt the MTC Values in the workplace.
- Maintain Health & Safety within the workplace.
- Metallurgical preparation of samples.
- Mechanical testing of metallurgy samples.
- Optical microscopy knowledge.
- Experience working to tight deadlines.
- Experience working with customers, ideally on commercially sensitive projects.
- Experience in a production-led environment.
- Experience in material analysis e.g. XCT, metrology, metallurgy.
- Experience in thermal spray coating and analysis.
- Experience in analysis of laser processing.
- Health & safety qualifications such as IOSH or willingness to undertake training.
- First Aid qualified.
- ABB robotic experience.
- Powder handling experience.
- Robot programming experience.
- GOM scanning experience.
Due to the nature of this role, there will be an expectation that this role will be based on site only.
