A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join a major highways project south of Coventry. This Freelance Site Engineer role offers the chance to work on a high-profile scheme, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Job Role

As a Freelance Site Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of the project, ensuring all engineering, safety, quality, and commercial requirements are met.

Key responsibilities include:

· Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.

· Setting out and surveying works using GPS equipment, total stations, and laser/dumpy levels.

· Supporting the organisation and coordination of project activities and site teams.

· Ensuring compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and industry standards.

· Assisting with contract administration, project meetings, and documentation.

· Supporting cost control, reporting, and financial management processes.

· Monitoring and coordinating project programmes and site progress.

· Acting as a key point of contact between the project team and client representatives.

Requirements

· Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

· 4-5 years' relevant experience, ideally within highways projects.

· Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on civil engineering or highways schemes.

· Proficient in AutoCAD.

· Experienced in the use of GPS equipment, total stations, and laser/dumpy levels.

· Own laptop with AutoCAD software available for site use.

· Strong communication and organisational skills.
