Role Overview
We are seeking an Innovation Technical Expert to support Severn Trent’s Chief Engineer Business Unit within the CE AI Asset Intelligence & Innovation Division.
Pay Grade:
Level 2 – Technical Expert, Full Time Contract, Post End Date: 22 Wed 2026, Salary Range: £41,000–£62,000.
- Work with Architect colleagues to scope projects and transform scopes into technical trials.
- Ensure trials demonstrate innovative technology or processes that are feasible, viable, scalable, and meet business challenges.
- Collaborate with cross‑departmental teams to deliver projects to the required standard and achieve all outcomes.
- Communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels, presenting findings to secure buy‑in and drive continuous improvement.
- Embed innovative solutions into real site environments, leveraging operational and site experience.
- Operate independently, drive personal development, and share knowledge within the team.
- Uphold Severn Trent values of Pride, Courage, Curiosity, and Care, and maintain excellent safety behaviours.
- Strong scientific and technical expertise; regarded as an expert in your field.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels of business.
- Ability to write clear, concise technical reports, briefings, presentations, and business cases.
- Experience in understanding large, complex data sets and translating them into tangible outputs.
- Proven experience or qualification in chemical and biological processes, or a related discipline.
- Operational and site experience.
- 28 days holiday plus bank holidays, with ability to buy/sell up to 5 days per year.
