About The Role
Warwick Arts Centre is looking for an experienced, adaptable, and technically skilled Stage Technician to join the team. The role involves counterweight flying, load ins and fit ups, running shows, AV knowledge, and basic lighting & sound operations. You will support the delivery of all technical aspects of the live programme and conference events, communicate well with visiting companies and hires, uphold the highest standards of technical presentation, maintain equipment, assist with inspections, and ensure compliance with legislation.
Flexibility is required, including evenings and weekends.
- Specialise as a stage technician: counterweight flying, load ins and fit ups, running of shows.
- Support delivery of all technical aspects of live programme and conferences.
- Maintain stage, auditorium and rehearsal/hire space equipment; inspect installations to ensure compliance with current legislation and licensing.
- Communicate with visiting companies and hires for incoming productions and events.
- Work flexible hours including evenings and weekends; 5% availability allowance is included in the salary.
- Significant professional experience working in theatre or live event environments.
- Strong knowledge of counterweight flying, rigging, stage operations and complex fit ups.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communicator with strong organisational and people‑management skills.
- Strong understanding of health & safety requirements in technical theatre environments.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings, planning stage layouts and using theatre‑related software is advantageous.
You will be an active member of the Technical team, a positive and proactive individual, able to remain calm under pressure, motivated to deliver high standards for visiting artists, companies and audiences, and able to build positive working relationships across departments and with external clients.
