To be responsible for leading and managing the delivery and development of the Coventry & Warwickshire Community Eating Disorder Service and Day Treatment Service and to work collaboratively with all other community mental health services across the Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust (CWPT).
The post holder will hold the Eating Disorder Community and Day Treatment – portfolio for either adults of working age or older people, and will provide management and leadership to the Team Leads who will drive the collective delivery of evidence-based interventions to the right person, from the right professional at the right time and place.
Main duties of the jobThe Operational Manager will have day‑to‑day responsibility to ensure the community and day treatment services operate in a safe, effective & efficient manner and are part of the whole system of community mental health services. They will support the team manager and teams to deliver evidence-based interventions, foster collaborative working relationships with providers of mental health services at a very local level, and manage the complexities of matrix working, leadership and accountability for delivery of key targets and measurables.
The portfolio of this role is broad and requires the post‑holder to work effectively with other speciality mental health service leads within teams to ensure services are delivered safely and meet contractual requirements. They will manage the post’s operational responsibilities and partner with other services to oversee performance and improvement.

Job responsibilities• Deputise for the Head of Service when required.
• Lead complex incident, HR and/or complaint investigations.
• Provide management and leadership for the provision of evidence‑based biopsychosocial practices to people in the eating disorder services, ensuring they have an active role in identifying, planning, and meeting their individual needs.
• Adopt and lead locally the implementation of the no‑wrong‑door philosophy across place‑based services, focusing on assessment and collectively meeting needs, moving away from traditional referral and wait‑way working, and aligning skill and capacity with local demand.
• Work with and across professional and multi‑agency groups within primary and secondary care to identify and implement systems and processes that support collaborative working to deliver a truly integrated care delivery approach.
• Develop and maintain good communication and relationships between CWPT teams and other local providers of mental health services, including primary care, VCSE and the local authority.
• Contribute to the operational delivery of change programmes within the eating disorder services and the wider Mental Health Directorate.
