Receptionist/Administration Role

To ensure that the reception area of the Practice runs smoothly, provides a high level of service to patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the Practice team.

About us

In 2019 our 3 single practices;
Gosford Green Surgery, Holyhead Surgery and Stoney Stanton Medical Practice merged together to form Godiva Group Practice. Our practices share a background of practicing high quality, patient‑centred care supported by a hard‑working and dedicated team. We were excited to have the opportunity of working together to become even stronger as a wider team.

More recently we have merged with a further 4th site in the CV2 area of Coventry. Our patients have the option of attending any of our 4 sites situated in CV1, CV2 and CV6 areas of Coventry.

Job responsibilities
  • Making appointments
  • Taking requests for prescriptions
  • Giving out results
  • Ambulance transport bookings
  • Home visit requests
  • Deal with general enquiries and complaints
  • Contacting other providers
  • Register new patients and temporary residents
  • Greet and direct patients and visitors
  • Making appointments
  • Handing out prescriptions
  • Ensure outstanding queries are explained and handed over to next shift
  • Respond to needs of doctors and nurses during surgery
  • Collect payments from patients for non‑NHS services
  • Deal with general enquiries and complaints
  • Pulling Lloyd George envelopes when requested by doctors
  • Dealing with requests for repeat prescriptions
  • Handing out Prescriptions
  • Dealing with queries relating to repeat prescriptions
  • Input and extract information from Practice computer system
  • Observe health and safety guidelines at all times
  • General housekeeping (e.g. keeping reception and waiting areas tidy)
  • Make refreshments for doctors and other team members, participate in washing up
  • Clean and replenish GP surgery rooms
  • Any other reasonable duties as necessary (dependant on experience)
  • Process Referrals
  • Extract and prepare GDPR requests
  • Person Specification Experience Essential
    • Office experience essential
    Desirable
    • Previous GP Practice/Hospital Experience preferred
    Disclosure and Barring Service Check
