Job Overview

To be part of the Neurodevelopmental Service multi-disciplinary team delivering specialist assessments, diagnoses and interventions for children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorders(ASD) and other Neurodevelopmental disorders including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). To lead and participate in research and service development activities as required The post holder will be an expert practitioner and will assess children referred to the service and plan, implement and evaluate treatment plans whilst referring to other professionals both internally and externally as appropriate.

As a member of the Neurodevelopmental team the post holder will provide expert clinical advice and support to other professionals both within the service and other agencies. Main duties of the job Clinical To provide specialist assessments for young children and their parents/carers referred to the service based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and where appropriate, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews.

To use diagnostic tools as part of the assessment to provide and/or contribute to the diagnosis of neurodevelopmental disorders. To formulate and implement plans for evidence-based interventions, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy, to improve the parent/child relationship.
