Job Summary
To be responsible for leading and managing the delivery and development of the Coventry & Warwickshire Community Eating Disorder Service and Day Treatment Service and to work collaboratively with all other community mental health services across Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust (CWPT). The post holder will hold the Eating Disorder Community and Day Treatment portfolio for either adults of working age or older people.
MainDuties
The Operational Manager will have day‑to‑day responsibility to ensure the community and day treatment services operate in a safe, effective and efficient way and are integrated within the whole system of community mental health services. They will provide management and leadership to the team manager and teams driving the delivery of evidence‑based interventions, fostering collaborative working relationships with local MH service providers, managing matrix working, meeting key targets and measurables, and ensuring services are delivered safely and contractually.

- Deputise for the Head of Service when required.
- Lead complex incident, HR and/or complaint investigations.
- Provide management and leadership for evidence‑based biopsychosocial practices to people in the eating disorder services, ensuring active engagement in identifying, planning, and meeting individual needs.
- Adopt and lead locally the implementation of the no‑wrong‑door philosophy, focusing on assessment and collective needs meeting.
- Work with and across professional and multi‑agency groups within primary and secondary care to identify and implement systems and processes that support integrated care delivery.
- Develop and maintain good communication and relationships with CWPT teams and other local MH service providers, including Primary Care, VCSE and local authority.
- Contribute to operational delivery of change programmes within the eating disorder services and the wider Mental Health Directorate.
- Develop the use of expert‑by‑experience/peer recovery roles and VCSE organisations in the teams, ensuring these roles are clearly included in pathways and support offers.
- Support and manage the directorate to meet Trust and NHSI/E performance objectives.
- Ensure staff understand and meet performance expectations through appraisal and performance management processes.
- Ensure delivery and compliance with mandatory training requirements for all staff.
- Adapt to and undertake new duties in line with professional or organisational change.
- Registered professional relevant to the post with significant post‑qualification experience (RMN for matron, RMN, RGN or AHP for Clinical Service Manager) in eating disorder services.
- Educated to a Masters level or demonstrable knowledge at the same level.
- Evidence of other leadership training and a commitment to personal development.
- Working knowledge of the Health and Social Care system including Mental Health.
- Extensive operational experience in a clinical setting.
