Bowel Cancer Screening Coordinator

Responsible for the coordination of the administration element of the Coventry and Warwickshire Bowel Cancer Screening Programme including line management of staff. Ensuring the provision of a full and comprehensive administration function to support the delivery of Bowel Cancer Screening across 4 screening sites/3 NHS Trusts (Coventry University Hospital, Hospital of St Cross, Rugby, George Eliot Hospital, Nuneaton and South Warwickshire Hospital, Warwick) in line with the changing needs of the service and quality assurance standards.

Supports the Lead Nurse through co-ordination of clinical nurse specialists (SSP's) workload across the four screening sites, to ensure the services are sufficiently staffed to include clinics, colonoscopy lists and post investigation appointments with patients. To ensure that the service is adequately covered when annual leave has been requested/granted.

Acts as deputy for the Programme Manager.

Main duties of the job

The post holder leads and manages the Bowel Screening Programme's administrative service across Coventry and Warwickshire, overseeing recruitment, training, performance management and staffing cover. They manage staffing budgets, resources and stock control, ensuring efficient financial processes. They maintain the Programme's Quality Management System, ensuring SOPs are developed, updated and implemented, and lead continuous improvement across all screening sites. The role includes line management and development of the Screening Pathway Navigator.

They plan and balance screening demand and capacity across four provider sites, liaising with Endoscopy and Outpatients teams, coordinating consultant leave, securing clinic and endoscopy capacity, and escalating risks. They manage FIT+ and Lynch Syndrome surveillance administration, ensuring accurate waiting list management, data entry and adherence to standards.

The post holder analyses performance, identifies risks, takes corrective action, supports audits, research and breach analysis, and provides data for business cases. They act as a key communication point internally and externally, lead on technical system use and rollouts, ensure Health & Safety compliance and maintain risk registers. They organise MDT/QAS meetings, produce clear visual datasets, arrange training and events, and provide high-level administrative and project support to the management team.
