Senior Biomedical Scientist​/Section Manager

Are you a motivated, passionate and experienced Biomedical scientist working within Microbiology? We have an opportunity for you to join our team of scientists and support workers providing a high quality service to the communities of Coventry and Warwickshire. This opportunity is currently on a part time, 12 month fixed term basis.

Candidates are welcome to visit the department with prior arrangement.

The successful candidate will support the Microbiology management team with performance monitoring and improvement, rotas for laboratory staff, staff management, training of laboratory staff, quality assurance, and health and safety.

To manage the day to day aspects of the Microbiology laboratory service and be responsible for all aspects of service delivery. This will include leading a team of qualified biomedical scientists and support staff and developing and promoting efficient, effective and robust systems and processes in the management of all resources.

Resources that will be managed include those which impact on delivery against financial targets, staff, information, quality, health and safety and equipment in any laboratory section within the Network.

The Section Manager will develop a culture in which staff are continuously improving the delivery of high-quality services through ensuring the development of realistic objectives for staff, leadership, motivation and systematic performance management across the Pathology Network.
