Job SummaryExperienced DXA Radiographer needed to join the SWFT bank. This outstanding foundation trust is undergoing a major equipment upgrade across all sites, located in the heart of Warwickshire with excellent road and rail links to London and the North.

Main Duties of the JobBe part of a senior radiography team rotating through A&E, theatres, CT, fluoroscopy and satellite community units as required.
Specialise in one of the following areas based on service needs:
Cath lab, mammography, MRI.

Job Responsibilities- Rotate through the department, undertaking unsupervised procedures in:
- General radiography (main department)
- Accident & Emergency and Fracture Clinic
- CT
- Fluoroscopy
- DEXA
- Community units as required
- Perform all clinical examinations to the highest standards according to departmental policies and procedures.
- Set high standards of patient care, monitor, initiate and implement changes where necessary to improve care.
- Assist and advise radiographers, assistant practitioners, radiographic aides and others where necessary.
- Keep knowledge up to date with latest developments in radiography; instigate change in liaison with Senior Radiographers and the General Manager Diagnostics.
- Work weekends, weekdays and negotiated extended hours programmes; nights may be required.
- Maintain clean, tidy, appropriately equipped rooms/areas ready for immediate use.
- Be familiar with all departmental clinical protocols and procedures for all modalities.
- Assist with the daily duty roster, ensuring all modalities are staffed appropriately, acting as Lead in the A&E department when required.
- Monitor and report equipment faults in the A&E department and general areas; liaise with manufacturers on breakdowns/faults.
- Co‑ordinate the daily workload and report sickness/absence to the Modality Lead/General Manager Diagnostics.
- Manage non‑clinical staff and allocate daily workload (e.g. porters).
- Participate in the daily clinical training of undergraduate and elective students from UCE, Birmingham or other organisations.
- Attend mandatory statutory training within the Trust yearly.
- Maintain an individual CPD portfolio and keep knowledge up to date with developments and technology.
- Assist, advise, teach junior radiographers and support staff; assist with formative/summative assessment for graduate and adaptation students.
- Participate in appraisals, personal reviews and work to agreed objectives.
- Adhere to all safety regulations:
Health and Safety, Infection Control, COSHH, IRMER and IRR. - Participate in radiology clinical audit.
- Work within and adhere to standards and operational policies relating to the Trust and Radiology Department.
- Review mistakes, incidents, near‐misses, complaints and successes to promote performance for self and patients.
- Ensure the weekly/monthly radiology equipment QA programme is maintained; report any issues to the RA for diagnostics.
- Liaise with all staff members regarding professional and personal development activities and promote continuous improvement.
- Liaise with wards, departments, clinicians, clerical and support staff to achieve maximum efficiency.
- Liaise with the radiology call centre to optimise the appointment system and ensure full utilisation of human and equipment resources.
- Advise and liaise with clinicians within the Trust and across the PCT for examinations and results where required.
- Maintain patient records for all examinations as per departmental protocol (paper and computerised).
- Essential: DCR or BSc in Radiology; evidence of CPD since qualification;
State Registered; experience in CT and/or another specialist area. - Desirable:
Post Graduate Diploma/degree.
