Advanced Practitioner Ultrasound​/Sonographer

The Imaging department is seeking an enthusiastic sonographer to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. The service covers general ultrasound departments as well as a variety of sub‑specialties including MSK, paediatrics, vascular and interventional. Ultrasound work is delivered across three sites – University Hospital Coventry, Hospital of St Cross and Coventry City Centre – with future expansion planned for the Community Diagnostic Centre in 2026.

• Provide 7‑day ultrasound service coverage, including weekends and bank/public holidays, in line with service requirements.
• Work within a dynamic, forward‑thinking team committed to excellence in patient care and service development.
• Train, mentor and develop other staff to maintain high standards of practice.
• Support service expansion into the Community Diagnostic Centre when commissioned.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues across all sites to manage a challenging and varied caseload.

• Direct access candidates who have completed a CASE‑accredited BSc in Medical Ultrasound.
• Must be RCT‑registered or actively working towards registration.
• Highly motivated, professional, with a flexible approach to working.
• Desire to further develop the ultrasound service within a teaching trust environment.
