Senior Night Care Assistant

Job description We are currently looking for a permanent Senior Night Healthcare Assistant to work in a residential care home in the Watford area. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 months experience in a senior carer capacity and have a good understanding of how to support adults with dementia. Good leadership and organisational skills are essential for this role and an ability to manage a team of staff.

A level 3 qualification in health & social care would be advantageous. Duties & responsibilities Leadership and shift management
- Lead through the shift from handover to the end of the shift ensuring all information regarding residents is handed over in the morning. to day staff. Team supervision
- Supervise and allocate duties to care staff ensuring best practice is always followed through the night. Emergency response
- Act as primary point of contact for all emergencies and health crisis through the night. Behavioral de-escalation
- Provide calm and re-assuring communication for residents that are experiencing distress and confusion. Personal Care
- Assisting staff with toileting continence management, washing and settling into bed. Night checks
- Overseeing fall prevention measures and ensuring hourly checks on residents well being are being conducted. Medication administration
- Safely and accurately administer medication to residents in the morning and evening. Care plans
- Update and review care plans ensuring all team members adhere to specific behavioral and physical needs. Health monitoring
- Monitor residents health, tracking vital signs and reporting any concerns to the relevant professional. or manager. Building security
- Ensure the care home is secure, checking external doors and ensuring no unauthorized personnel enter the building. Compliance
- Ensure the home complies to CQC regulations maintaining accurate daily records and charts.
