Overview

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Senior Care Assistant to join the Avalon Court Care Home team in Coventry. You will work with the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care in a safe, caring, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors, and staff, and support the organisation’s values of respect and compassion.

Responsibilities
  • Support the care team to deliver high standards of personal care and maintain a safe, caring environment for residents.
  • Monitor resident wellbeing, identify changes affecting care and care plans, update records to reflect new needs, and participate in monthly evaluations and care planning.
  • Assist with residents’ medication requirements as needed.
  • Undertake staff supervision and support staff development where required.
  • Act as a key point of contact for residents, relatives, visitors, and health and social care professionals, handling reasonable requests and escalating concerns or complaints as appropriate.

Qualifications
  • NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar care environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Positive attitude toward supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
  • Responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
Other requirements
  • DBS check clearance or the ability to obtain one (cost covered by Avery Healthcare).
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
