Role Description This is a contract, on-site Care Assistant role based in Coventry. The Care Assistant will provide practical and emotional support to children and adults in their home or community settings, assisting with personal care, mobility, and daily living activities in line with individual care plans. Typical tasks include helping with washing, dressing, meal preparation, medication prompts (where appropriate), and safe manual handling, while promoting independence and dignity.

The role involves observing and recording changes in clients’ wellbeing, communicating effectively with families and other professionals, and responding promptly to care needs. The Care Assistant will work as part of a wider care team, follow agency policies and procedures, and maintain high standards of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust with clients, families, and colleagues.
  • Candidates should possess caregiving and dementia care skills to support individuals with diverse physical and cognitive needs.
  • Candidates should possess safe manual handling skills and an understanding of mobility support and basic health and safety practices.
  • Relevant care-related training or qualifications (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent) are beneficial.
  • Experience in domiciliary care or community-based support, including work with diverse cultural and ethnic groups, is advantageous.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, with a reliable and professional approach to punctuality and attendance.
  • A valid right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo background checks in line with safeguarding requirements.
