We are looking for a part time Senior Psychotherapist/Group Analyst to join our newly formed integrated Northeast Adult Mental Health Team, part of the North and West Oxfordshire Adult Mental Health Locality.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a new team and help shape the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care. You will work alongside experienced and supportive colleagues within the wider team of psychological professionals, including psychotherapists, psychologists, group analysts, CBT therapists, CAT therapists, and family therapists.

As part of our integrated multidisciplinary service, you will also have opportunities to work closely with psychiatrists, social workers, community psychiatric nurses, and other mental health professionals, supporting joined-up care for the people and communities we serve.

Main duties of the job
  • Work as part of the locality psychological therapies team within the Adult Mental Health Team, seeing patients individually and in groups, providing formal psychological treatment and/or management of a client’s mental health problems.
  • Be responsible for the assessment, treatment, and discharge of patients whose problems are managed by psychologically based standard care plans.
  • Evaluate and make decisions about treatment options considering both theoretical and therapeutic models and complex factors concerning the patients mental health difficulties.
  • Help co-facilitate MBT groups within our well-established countywide Mentalisation-Based Treatment (MBT) programme. Delivered in person from our Headington base in Oxford city.
  • Provide specialist psychological advice, guidance, and consultation to the wider Adult Mental Health Team to help develop their patients formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Receive and provide professional clinical supervision for yourself and other appropriately trained psychological therapy staff.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of the teams operational practices to ensure high quality, responsive and accessible services are available.
