A Vacancy at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. Biomedical Science Training and Recruitment Strategy Lead - Part-Time Post 30 hours per week. Coventry and Warwickshire Pathology Services (CWPS) is a large, long standing Pathology Network in the South Midlands. Pathology services are provided across three main sites;
University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust in Coventry, the George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton and South Warwickshire Foundation Trust in Warwick. The CWPS Biomedical Science Training and Recruitment Strategy Lead is a key role within CWPS, co-ordinating and ensuring standardisation of Training and Recruitment across all Pathology Disciplines, as well as collaborating with external organisations to facilitate, develop and establish the supporting Training framework This role is a part-time substantive post with main responsibilities to chair the monthly CWPS Network Training Committee and work closely with and provide support for the Discipline Training Section Managers to deliver the CWPS Network Training and Recruitment Strategy.
This is an opportunity for the right candidate to expand their experience and knowledge within the area of Training, including developing the use of the on-line digital Profiler Live Training and Competency tool across Pathology. CWPS have a number of Recruitment initiatives including apprenticeships and placement students and works closely with local providers to manage these different training routes to improve staff succession planning and retention.
- Liaise with representatives Higher Education Institutions to explore delivery of innovative Apprenticeship training and education programmes to suit the requirements of CWPS.
- Work with department managers across CWPS to identify and advise on supplementing skill gaps within the workforce. Explore implementation of new roles, for example, Biomedical Associate.
- Attend and represent CWPS Network at local, regional and national forums to relevant to delivery of Training and education for the Biomedical Science workforce. Circulate relevant information and updates to training officers and department managers.
- Become proficient in the use of the Quality Management system, ensuring the effective management of all controlled documentation.
- Become familiar with and ensure Biomedical Science training supports the delivery of services in line with the principles of the ISO standard and MHRA requirements, HTA regulations, HSE requirements.
- Collect, interpret and present in an agreed format information when required for presentation to the Pathology Operational Board meetings and quality meetings.
- Become a point of contact for enquiries related to training and education of the Biomedical Science workforce, record information and complete follow up communications when necessary. Communicate and circulate relevant information to colleagues.

6. Work with Training officers, department managers and Pathology management to design and implement a Biomedical Assistant and Associate Training Programme according to requirements set out by the CSO at NHS England.
