This role operates on a hybrid working arrangement that will require 1-2 days travel a week into our Coventry head office. This may fluctuate in line with business requirements. Our working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit so please note that an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts.

About our Department

The People Team play a pivotal role in delivering Arden University’s people strategy, supporting colleagues across the full employee lifecycle. The team provides expert services across recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, learning and development, wellbeing, workforce planning and organisational change, helping to create a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture.

Our HR Systems and Data Analysts underpin the work of the People Team, producing high-quality people data, workforce insights and management reporting that enables evidence-based decision making. They work closely with stakeholders across the University to drive continuous improvement, enhance operational effectiveness, and support strategic HR and organisational development initiatives.

About the Opportunity

You will play a key role in supporting the effective operation of HR systems and modules, ensuring data accuracy, system integrity and smooth day-to-day functionality. You will be responsible for investigating and resolving system queries, producing reports, and maintaining high-quality people data to support strategic decision-making.

This role involves testing system upgrades, supporting system configuration, and contributing to process improvement, helping to enhance efficiency, automation, and user experience. You will also maintain comprehensive system documentation and contribute to the development of robust, compliant HR systems and processes.

** you will need to work 3 days a week minimum for a part-time role, days of the week are negotiable.

About You

We are looking for a data-driven HR systems professional with strong technical expertise and a passion for improving processes through automation, insight and innovation. You will bring:

  • In-depth working knowledge of HR systems, HRIS platforms and operational HR processes
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting and dashboard creation
  • Proven experience in handling, analysing and presenting large datasets to support strategic decision-making
  • Strong ability to manipulate and integrate data from multiple sources to deliver clear, high-impact insights
  • Experience maximising system functionality to improve, automate and streamline HR processes
  • Up-to-date knowledge of HR legislation and data protection requirements, including GDPR compliance
Desirable Criteria
  • Previous experience working within an HR or People Services function
  • Working knowledge of iTrent or similar HR/Payroll systems
  • Experience in the education or public sector environment
