Job Description & How to Apply Below
Shape the Culture. Coach the Leaders. Own the People Agenda. Great HR isn't about sitting behind policies. It's about being visible in the business, understanding your people, helping managers make better decisions and creating a culture where teams can perform at their best. At Currie Motors , we're looking for an experienced HR Manager to take a leading role in delivering our people agenda across a successful, family-owned, multi-site automotive group.
You'll have real ownership across employee relations, manager coaching, performance, engagement, organisational change, reward and HR strategy. And you'll be visible. With more than 200 employees across our locations, this is a role for someone who enjoys getting out into the business, building relationships and making HR genuinely useful. If you're a confident HR generalist who combines strong ER expertise with commercial judgement and a genuine passion for people, we'd love to hear from you.

HR Management, Employee Relations, UK Employment Law, Manager Coaching, HR Strategy, Performance Management, Employee Engagement, Organisational Change, Reward & Recognition, Learning & Development Who We Are Currie Motors is one of England's most prominent family-owned motor retail groups and a highly successful specialist in the sale of pre-owned cars. We've been established in the UK for more than 50 years and have built our reputation around a straightforward philosophy: “Nice People to Do Business With.”
That doesn't just apply to our customers. We want to create a positive working culture where our people feel supported, our managers have the confidence to lead effectively and HR plays an active role in helping the wider business succeed. The Opportunity As our HR Manager, you'll report directly to the HR Director and provide a comprehensive HR service across our multi-site business.
You'll lead day-to-day people activity while advising and coaching managers across the entire employee lifecycle. That means being equally comfortable guiding a manager through a sensitive employee relations case, reviewing HR policy against changing legislation, supporting organisational change or thinking about how we can improve engagement and the wider employee experience. You'll be based at our Twickenham office, with regular travel to our Kingston, Isleworth and Great West Road dealerships to build strong relationships and support leadership teams in person. About You You're a confident, proactive HR professional who enjoys being close to the business. You understand that good HR requires more than knowing the legislation. You can coach managers, influence decisions, handle sensitive situations and build trusted relationships with people at every level.
You're also comfortable rolling your sleeves up. This isn't a purely strategic HR position - you'll remain actively involved in the operational people matters that affect employees and managers every day. You'll likely bring:
• CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent practical experience preferred. Level 7 would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Strong operational HR generalist experience, ideally within a multi-site or similarly fast-moving organisation.
