Senior SAP Functional consultant

Location: Coventry - Hybrid - 4 days per week onsite

Duration: 6 months

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP Functional Consultant with 10–12+ years of hands‑on SAP expertise, specialising in SAP MM and SAP PS within Utilities or Asset‑Centric Operations environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Metering Operations, Move‑In/Move‑Out processes
, Work Order management
, and SAP Business Partner (BP). The role demands extensive cross‑module and integration skills
, including IDoc, SAP Proxy, and API‑based interfaces within complex SAP landscapes.

• Lead SAP MM and PS functional work streams across metering, customer, and field operations.
• Design and support end‑to‑end processes for:
• Meter Installation, Removal, and Exchange
• Meter & Asset Characteristic Updates
• Configure and manage SAP MM processes: PR, PO, Service PO, release strategies, and workflows.
• Configure and manage SAP PS
  : WBS, Networks, Costing, Budgeting, Settlement.
• Lead the Work Order lifecycle covering: creation, execution, confirmation, status updates, and technical completion.
• Drive Customer Data Reconciliation &
  SAP Business Partner (BP) role maintenance.
• Ensure seamless integration between modules:
  MM, PS, PM/CS, BP, FI/CO
  , and external applications.
• Manage and support integrations using:
  IDocs, SAP Proxy, API (REST/SOAP).
• Lead functional design, UAT, cutover planning, go‑live, and hypercare.
• Collaborate closely with ABAP and integration teams for RICEFW and interface development.

• 10–12+ years of SAP ERP functional consulting experience.
• Strong, hands‑on expertise in SAP MM and SAP PS
  .
• Demonstrated experience in:
• Metering operations & service fulfilment
• Work Orders & operational lifecycle
• Purchase Orders & service procurement
• Strong understanding of SAP Business Partner (BP) and customer master reconciliation.
• Solid technical exposure to:
  IDocs, SAP Proxy, APIs, workflows, BAPIs, RFCs
• Ability to perform functional debugging and root‑cause analysis.

• Experience in Utilities, Energy, or Water sector.
• Exposure to SAP IS‑U (Move‑In/Out, Installation, Devices).
• Experience with SAP S/4
