Salary: up to £70,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Location: Coventry - 3 days per week onsite
Working Hours: 40 hours per week

An established organisation is seeking an Senior Internet Security Engineer to join its security architecture function, leading the design and evolution of enterprise cloud security capabilities. This is a senior technical role focused on Secure Web Gateway, Cloud Access Security Broker and Data Loss Prevention technologies, supporting a broader Zero Trust and modern security strategy.

The Senior Internet Security Engineer position is suited to an experienced security professional who combines deep technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to deliver scalable, future-ready security solutions across complex enterprise environments.

Responsibilities for the Internet Security Engineer:

• Design and implement Internet Security policies to protect corporate endpoints across enterprise environments
• Define, enable and review Secure Web Gateway and CASB configurations, including traffic steering and policy optimisation
• Analyse data exfiltration risks and architect robust Data Loss Prevention strategies
• Apply advanced SSL inspection techniques, defining secure decryption bypass policies while maintaining protection standards
• Collaborate with Security Operations to enhance controls, manage exceptions and apply ad-hoc site restrictions
• Administer and optimise the Netskope tenant, including upgrades and performance improvements
• Design and build internal PKI solutions, integrating with certificate lifecycle management and cloud HSM platforms
• Define certificate templates and enhance cryptographic resilience through modern PKI practices
• Architect and deliver Zero Trust Network Access frameworks, including VPN migration and network segmentation initiatives
• Discover VPN-dependent applications and define firewall changes to support ZTNA transition
• Support cyber resilience initiatives including segmentation and kill-switch requirements
• Manage proxy access control configurations and coordinate with network teams for implementation
• Partner with enterprise compute teams to deploy, upgrade and maintain Internet Security tooling across endpoints
• Manage Entra
  
  ID enterprise applications, ensuring SSO, SCIM and identity provider integrations are maintained
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to security automation initiatives

Essential Skills for the Internet Security Engineer:

• Strong expertise in Internet Security architecture including policy design, SSL inspection and Data Loss Prevention strategies
• Proven experience implementing Secure Web Gateway, CASB and Netskope administration within enterprise environments
• Experience integrating identity platforms including Entra
  
  ID for SSO and access control
• Strong background in PKI design, certificate lifecycle management and cryptographic security practices
• Experience implementing Zero Trust Network Access and supporting VPN modernisation programmes
• Strong collaboration skills with experience working across Security Operations, Network and Enterprise Compute teams
• Detail-oriented approach with the ability to deliver scalable, compliant and resilient security frameworks
