Technical Support Analyst

University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust's ICT Department team offers an opportunity for an individual aspiring to work as a Technical Support Analyst. The role is part of a dynamic team providing hardware and software support across a large acute hospital environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide desktop support to a corporate estate of over 10,000 desktops and 13,000 users.
- Handle end‑user hardware and software issues using ITIL incident, change and problem management.
- Support operation of networked computer systems; basic network troubleshooting required.
- Prepare, test and deploy equipment (PCs, laptops, mobile devices) following best practices.
- Install and commission ICT equipment in user work areas and provide basic user familiarisation.
- Maintain and operate Trust standard OSs such as Windows 11 and iOS.
- Commission, deploy and support mobile devices.
Additional duties include:
- Provide remote and on‑site support at University Hospital Coventry and other sites, travelling as necessary.
- Ensure ICT equipment meets safety standards, perform problem resolution and hardware repairs, liaising with third parties.
- First‑line fault finding for network equipment and cabling; configuration and patching.
- Record incidents, changes and requests in Service Now; use escalation procedures and keep users informed.
- Use Service Now for asset management and report generation.
- Support voice and data network systems; maintain via configuration and change management.
- Perform acceptance testing, installation, commissioning, configuration and troubleshooting of voice/data communication equipment.
Essential requirement: A UK driving licence (International licence not accepted).
Working hours:
7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, core hours 07:30–18:00 with 30 minutes for lunch. Flexibility may be required.
