The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Shipping and Logistics Controller to join a leading aerospace manufacturing organisation based in Coventry. This role sits at the heart of the supply chain operation, ensuring products are shipped accurately, compliantly and on time to customers around the world.

This position offers a varied mix of administration, coordination and hands-on operational activities. You will be responsible for supporting import and export processes, preparing shipping documentation, liaising with logistics partners and maintaining accurate records, while also supporting warehouse and shipping activities when required.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Shipping and Logistics Controller, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and processing import and export documentation to ensure shipments are compliant and delivered on time
  • Coordinating with internal teams, warehouse personnel and logistics providers to support daily shipping activities
  • Maintaining accurate records and updating company systems with shipment and delivery information
  • Managing and prioritising activities through the team mailbox, ensuring enquiries are responded to effectively
  • Supporting transport management, freight forwarding and customer delivery requirements
  • Assisting with compliance, reporting and continuous improvement activities within the logistics function

What We Are Looking For

You will be a motivated individuals who is keen to learn, embrace new challenges and contribute to a collaborative team environment. You may already have logistics experience or be looking to transfer your skills from another sector such as hospitality, retail, leisure, customer service, automotive or administration.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy when handling documentation and data
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills and processes
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on environment, including manual handling activities, moving pallets and boxes, wearing PPE and working both indoors and outdoors throughout the year
  • Previous experience within logistics, shipping, warehousing, administration or supply chain operations
  • Experience using SAP, ERP systems or carrier management systems
  • Knowledge of import/export procedures, shipping documentation or compliance requirements
