Are you an experienced Customs Clearance professional looking for your next move?
We're working with an established and growing logistics business that specialises in time-critical international transport and customs solutions. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced Customs Clearance Agent to their in-house team.
This is a great opportunity to join a dedicated customs function, working alongside other experienced customs specialists rather than being the sole customs expert within a wider freight operation.
The Role
You'll be responsible for managing customs declarations across road, air and multimodal freight, supporting a varied portfolio of UK and European customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing and submitting import and export customs declarations
Ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and accurately managing duty liabilities
Handling Transit (T1/T2), CFSP and other specialist customs procedures
Liaising with customers, carriers, HMRC and relevant community systems to resolve clearance queries
Working across key customs platforms including CDS, CNS, Destin8, Sequoia and CONEX
Supporting the wider customs team with accurate and efficient clearance of time-sensitive shipments
About You
We're looking for someone with at least 2 years' hands-on customs clearance experience who is looking to develop their career within a genuine customs environment.
Ideally, you'll have:
Strong experience preparing import and export declarations
Good knowledge of UK and EU customs regulations post-Brexit
Knowledge of customs procedure codes and duty requirements
Experience with CDS and other UK customs systems
Experience with ASM Sequoia / CONEX
Knowledge of CFSP and Transit procedures would be highly advantageous
A proactive approach and the ability to resolve customs issues quickly and accurately
Working Hours
The role operates a three-week Monday-Friday rotation, providing coverage across international freight movements:
Week 1: 07:00 - 16:00
Week 2: 08:30 - 17:30
Week 3: 10:00 - 19:00
No weekend working.
What's on Offer?
£33,000 - £37,000 basic salary, depending on experience
Monday-Friday working pattern
22 days' holiday + bank holidays
Option to purchase additional annual leave
Company pension
Free on-site parking
Cycle-to-work scheme
Casual dress environment
Continued professional development and support with relevant HMRC/customs qualifications
Opportunity to join an established and growing customs operation
A varied role covering road, air and multimodal freight
The chance to build your career within a business where customs is a genuine specialist function
If you're an experienced Customs Clearance professional and are looking for a role where you can develop your technical knowledge, work alongside other customs specialists and be part of a growing international logistics operation, I'd be keen to speak with you.
