Job DescriptionClean the interior of the school to an agreed standard under the direction of the Cleaner in Charge or Site Manager/Caretaker. Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and general hygiene of the school premises.
Responsibilities- Clean hard surfaces, floor surfaces, walls, windows, fixtures, fittings and equipment as directed to an agreed standard, using powered equipment where appropriate.
- Work in accordance with Health and Safety legislation and practice safe methods.
- Report breakdown of any equipment or perceived hazards/incidents to the Cleaner in Charge or Site Manager/Caretaker.
- Ensure good hygiene using separate cloths and mops for toilets, classrooms and food preparation areas.
- Complete any necessary records or documentation required by the school.
- Maintain good working relationships with other school staff; cooperate with reasonable changes to daily work routines to assist the smooth operation of the school.
- Undertake other duties as may be required from time to time commensurate with the level of the post.
- Comply with all decisions, policies and standing orders of the school and with statutory requirements.
- Have a commitment to Child Safeguarding, promoting the welfare of children and young people in accordance with the school’s agreed policy.
- Routine cleaning duties may include moving and handling cleaning equipment, chemicals, machinery, and occasional movement of furniture.
- Cleaning duties will be undertaken indoors on school premises; may include cleaning up bodily fluids.
- Lifting may be required on occasion.
- Cleaning equipment and materials including chemicals will be used regularly; training and PPE will be provided.
- Full enhanced DBS check.
- Eligible to work in the UK; visas are not sponsored.
