Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site Master Automotive Technician role based in Coventry. The Master Automotive Technician will perform advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repair on a wide range of vehicles, including routine services and complex mechanical issues. Day-to-day responsibilities include inspecting vehicles, identifying faults, completing oil changes and fluid services, repairing suspension and other systems, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.
The role also involves mentoring and guiding learners during practical sessions, explaining repair processes, best practices, and tool usage. The technician will collaborate with instructors and staff to support course delivery, maintain workshop equipment, and help continuously improve training materials and procedures.
- Strong skills in vehicle maintenance and routine servicing, including oil changes and inspection of key components.
- Proficiency in automotive repair and general maintenance & repair tasks, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
- Hands-on experience with suspension systems, including inspection, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Relevant vocational qualification or certification in automotive technology (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, ASE or equivalent).
- Proven experience as a senior or master-level automotive technician in a workshop or dealership environment.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and diagnostic reports with attention to detail.
- Clear, gender-neutral communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to learners of varied backgrounds.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality control, and continuous professional development in automotive technologies.
