The FirmWe are working with a large, well-established and forward-thinking firm of Chartered Accountants based in Coventry, providing audit, accounting, tax and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients across the Midlands and nationally.
They pride themselves on combining technical excellence with a supportive and people-focused culture. As part of their continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join their expanding Audit & Assurance team.
The RoleAs Audit Manager, you will take responsibility for managing a varied portfolio of audit clients, overseeing assignments from planning through to completion, and playing a key role in developing both client relationships and junior team members. This is a leadership position suited to a technically strong and commercially aware audit professional who thrives in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities- Managing a portfolio of audit clients across a range of sectors
- Planning, budgeting and reviewing audit assignments
- Leading audit teams on-site and remotely
- Reviewing statutory accounts prepared under FRS 102 and FRS 105
- Ensuring audits are completed in compliance with UK GAAP, ISAs (UK), and internal quality standards
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients, building strong and lasting relationships
- Identifying opportunities to provide additional services
- Reporting directly to Partners and Directors
- Assisting with practice development and process improvements
- Mentoring, coaching and developing Audit Seniors and Semi-Seniors
- Involvement in tender processes and networking where appropriate
- Minimum 3–5 years’ UK audit experience within practice
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and ISAs (UK)
- Experience supervising and reviewing junior staff
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Commercially aware with strong problem-solving ability
- Organised with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
