Workshop Controller

Job Introduction

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Workshop Controller to join our VW Dealership in Coventry. Hours of work are 08:00 - 18:00, Monday to Fridays and Saturdays on a rota basis. Excellent Basic Salary with OTE of up to £44,000 plus car & benefits. The Workshop Manager is responsible for ensuring maximum productivity in the workshop, liaising between Service Advisor’s and Technicians, ensuring that all required work is actioned effectively and efficiently.

• Managing the workflow of all jobs to brand standard.
• Managing a team of Technicians, ensuring workflow through the workshop is done efficiently and effectively.
• Providing focused management to the service department team to ensure an excellent customer experience.
• Ensuring processes are always adhered to.
• Conducting regular process reviews with the Aftersales Manager to identify operational issues/discrepancies and ensuring appropriate follow‑up actions are taken to rectify.
• Managing the performance of the workshop to ensure KPI targets are achieved.
• Planning workshop and support resources to ensure work requirements are fulfilled.
• Supporting the department team as required and ensuring all work is completed on time.
• Supporting the service department with specifications and coding of non‑standard, complex jobs, and ensuring all such work is approved with customers prior to any work being started.
• Managing the handover of complex or potentially contentious jobs (invoices, claims) to ensure full buy‑in and agreement from the customer.

• Previously worked within a dealership as a Trainee Workshop Controller, Experienced Workshop Foreman, or Experienced Workshop Controller.
