LET’S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT Our Water Resources Strategy team have an excellent opportunity to join as our new Water Resources Management Plan Assistant Project Manager
. Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy produce and consult on our statutory Water Resources Management Plans (WRMP) every five years. These plans are crucial in ensuring we deliver sustainable, reliable water resources for our customers, meet regulatory requirements, and plan for a resilient future.

In this role you will support the WRMP Lead Project Manager and project technical leads to coordinate and ensure successful delivery of our statutory Water Resources Management Plan. This will be done by working in partnership with our internal asset strategy teams, our technical experts as well as the Environment Agency and external stakeholders.

Key accountabilities

  • Support the WRMP Lead Project Manager with tracking and reporting delivery of the various WRMP technical work streams, using PMO and project management tools to ensure project compliance, risk management and quality assurance.
  • Coordinate project team activities to ensure alignment across work streams, proactively identifying and escalating any delivery risks or concerns through appropriate governance channels.
  • Own and maintain WRMP programme trackers (updates, risks & delivery), ensuring data accuracy, timely updates, and producing weekly reporting packs for governance forums (e.g., TCG, programme reviews).
  • Lead the project workstream to coordinate, populate and quality assure the technical datasets that will be submitted as part of the next WRMP.
  • Help manage our delivery partners and consultants, ensuring the project team have accurate and up to date information.
  • Effectively communicate progress and findings to senior stakeholders, gaining buy-in at key project milestones.
  • Ensure that the different project work streams have robust and auditable assurance processes in place.

Work with the different WRMP technical delivery leads to provide them with project planning and delivery support and ensure accurate and up to date performance reporting.

With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week
.

To be successful in this role you’ll have experience of managing complex projects, working collaboratively with consultants and stakeholders using structured project management methodologies to deliver complex programmes. You will apply and continuously improve robust project governance practices, ensuring clear auditability, effective decision-making, and adherence to internal and regulatory requirements.

Additionally, it would be desirable if you had knowledge of environmental legislation, water resources management and an understanding of the WRMP process.
