The roleTo lead and manage the Home Relocations Team, ensuring the effective and timely placement of customers into appropriate emergency and temporary accommodation.
This role is part of Property where you'll help us to lead the way investing and maintaining 46,000 homes.
What you'll achieveThe postholder will drive continuous improvement in processes, reduce the length of stay in temporary accommodation, and work collaboratively across teams to support sustainable housing solutions.
- Delivery of a safe, compliant and efficient customer relocation service
- Effective management of temporary accommodation budgets
- Lead, manage and develop a team of Home Relocation Officers (circa 3 staff), providing clear direction, support and performance management
- Oversee the end-to-end relocation process for customers requiring emergency or temporary accommodation
- Manage the operational delivery of external contracts for emergency and temporary accommodation provision
- Ensure all spend is controlled, transparent and delivers value for money
- Identify cost pressures and opportunities to reduce expenditure, particularly through reducing reliance on temporary accommodation
- Experience of managing a team within a housing, homelessness, or customer service environment
- Knowledge of temporary accommodation, housing management or relocation processes
- Experience of contract management and supplier performance oversight
Strong financial awareness and experience of budget management - Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of social housing legislation and regulatory requirements
- Experience working with vulnerable customers and complex needs
- Experience in process mapping or service redesign
