Job Description
This is a hands-on workshop role offering long‑term stability, structured hours and the opportunity to develop your technical skills in a supportive environment. If you enjoy mechanical work, take pride in quality and want a role with clear structure and progression, this could be a great fit.
You will work Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30, with no weekend work, alongside an experienced team in a well‑equipped workshop. Training is provided, and the business is committed to developing its people over the long term.
The role
As a Workshop Plant Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and supporting a range of plant and mechanical equipment. Your work will help ensure equipment is safe, reliable and available when required.
This is a practical, workshop‑based role where attention to detail, following procedures and working safely are essential.
What you will be doing
You will be involved in:
- Carrying out mechanical maintenance, repair and overhaul work on plant equipment
- Diagnosing faults and completing repairs in line with specifications and work instructions
- Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding components where required
- Completing job documentation accurately and on time
- Working to quality, health and safety and operational standards
- Supporting workshop planning and prioritisation of jobs
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Working collaboratively with supervisors and colleagues to meet deadlines
What you will bring

- Previous experience in a mechanical, plant, workshop or technician role
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills
- The ability to follow procedures and technical instructions
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Good communication skills
- A positive, reliable and flexible approach
- Willingness to learn and develop through on‑the‑job training
What you get in return
- Salary £30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience
- Monday to Friday working hours, 08:00 to 16:30
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Two weeks paid leave for Reservists to attend annual training or camp
