A growing offsite manufacturing business is looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to lead all workshop and operational activities at its Coventry production facility.
This is a hands‑on leadership role with responsibility across production, pricing, planning, quality, safety, materials, transport, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational performance, maintaining high workshop standards, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities- Lead day‑to‑day operations across the production facility
- Price pipe spools and offsite products accurately
- Complete take‑offs from drawings and manage material ordering
- Plan and schedule daily and weekly production workloads
- Allocate labour resources to meet programme requirements
- Oversee workshop output, quality checks, and product testing
- Maintain QA documentation and approve products prior to dispatch
- Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and safe systems of work
- Coordinate deliveries, collections, and transport logistics
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and workshop efficiency projects
- Maintain a clean, organised, and professional workshop environment
- Proven experience in an Operations Manager or Production Manager role within manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, or offsite construction
- Strong understanding of workshop operations, production planning, and quality processes
- Ability to read technical drawings and complete material take‑offs
- Experience managing teams in a fast‑paced production environment
- Knowledge of health & safety compliance and continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong organisational and leadership skills with a proactive approach
- Rework rates below 2%
