CNC Programmer (CAD/CAM)

Coventry

Shift: 08:00am - 16:30pm Mon - Fri + Overtime

Hours:

40 hours per week, full time

Permanent position

£21.00 - £23.00 per hour

The CNC Programmer Role

This role will focus on creating and optimising CNC programs using Top Solid, supporting the production of high‑quality machined components.

Key Responsibilities
  • For the role of CNC Programmer, you will create programs for the machine shop from route card and customer specifications
  • Responsibility for the security and organisation and production of the CNC programs with CAD/CAM software
  • Review existing programs when required to increase efficiency in production for the role of CNC Programmer
  • Suggest new training and new technology programs as appropriate
  • Develop tooling set up sheets for all CNC programs to assist in production

What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience as a CNC Programmer within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM programming
  • Experience with Top Solid would be highly beneficial or similar CAM software
  • Understanding of machining processes including milling and turning
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models
  • Experience with multi‑axis machining (3-axis / 4-axis / 5-axis)
  • Knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining optimisation
