The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Multi-Skilled Machine Tool Fitter to join a well-established precision machine tool manufacturer in Coventry.

The role involves building and assembling complex, high-precision machine tools, with responsibilities covering mechanical fitting, hydraulics, pneumatics, machine wiring and general toolroom work. Some customer visits and overseas travel will also be required.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building and assembling complex machine tools from engineering and assembly drawings.
• Installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical systems and components.
• Precision fitting of bearings and assembling components to tight tolerances.
• Hand scraping mating faces to achieve the correct alignment and fit.
• Completing drilling, tapping and general sub-assembly work.
• Installing, testing and calibrating pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Fitting machine pipework, cabling, switches, sensors and motors.
• Completing sheet metal cutting and general fitting tasks.
