Let’s tell you more

Apprenticeship Programmes are a great way to earn and learn. Our Apprentice Communications and Marketing Assistant Programme offers the perfect blend of personal and professional development, exposing you to the core of our business. You’ll be supported every step of the way. Your role will be to gain practical experience in a few teams, developing your knowledge and understanding of Severn Trent and our processes.

All of this will allow you to further develop your skills so you can communicate data effectively to a wide variety of stakeholders. You’ll support the development and delivery of multi‑channel internal and external communication campaigns, helping to bring ideas to life across social media, email, web, print, and events. You’ll work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, gaining hands‑on experience in how we plan, create, and deliver communications that support our diverse business units.

We welcome apprentices from diverse backgrounds and offer varied experiences, training and development to provide a grounding for your future career.

How the Programme Works

You will be based at the Severn Trent Centre in Coventry. The programme allows you to gain exposure in different areas of the department so you are equipped with the right skills to build your career here. You will discuss your development and career ambitions in 1-1 meetings with business leads, mentors, a study buddy, the cohort leader, and the New Talent Team.

You will study towards a Level 4 Marketing Executive qualification. More information about this standard can be found via the provided link. We encourage you to read this information before applying.

What You Will Learn
  • Planning and delivering multi‑channel communication campaigns from initial brief through to evaluation.
  • Creating engaging content for social media, web pages, newsletters, and printed materials.
  • Supporting brand consistency across all internal and external communications.
  • Developing professional communication, organisation, and project coordination skills that support campaign delivery from start to finish.

What We Are Looking For

We want our employees to care and to have a genuine passion for what we do as a business. We need people who want to make a difference in providing a vital service to our customers, now and for the long term. If you have the passion to succeed that we see in our apprentices every day, you’ll be a great match for our programme.

You’ll need:
