Overview
To Lead, Manage, Coordinate and Support the Ophthalmology Outpatients Clinics, across all Ophthalmic subspecialities, at University Hospital Coventry and Rugby St Cross hospital demonstrating all the trust values.
To provide advice and support to the multi‑disciplinary team involved in caring for patients in the Outpatient setting. You will be expected to set and maintain high standards of care in line with Trust vision & values.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.- Provide expert daily leadership and support to all levels of staff in the Ophthalmology Outpatients Clinic
- Manage and co‑ordinate staffing day to day and in advance, to ensure effective use of resources across the Ophthalmology Outpatients Clinic. This includes responsibility for the duty rota, devising the off duty and considering bank usage.
- To participate and ensure that all staff in the area undergo an annual appraisal using the personal development review documentation (PDR).
- To support staff with CPD activities and to promote teaching and training regularly in house and courses outside the trust.
- Assist alongside clinical nurse manager in the appropriate management of staff performance, conduct and sickness absence is in line with Trust policy.
- Be aware of department budget (pay and non‑pay) ensuring effective use of resources. Have an insight into the financial balance.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, students, and staff, reporting and taking appropriate action on any hazards, incidents, faulty equipment, or inadequate standards of cleaning.
