The Meriden Hospital, Coventry – Bank shifts – Salary up to £19.00 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification).

We are looking for a senior registered nurse to join our Pre‑Assessment department.

This is a bank role on an “as and when required” basis, supplementing staffing levels during busy periods and covering for staff on leave or absent.

• Deliver high‑quality nursing care and lead on the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for complex patients.
• Use advanced clinical knowledge to make timely and appropriate decisions, escalating where necessary.
• Administer medication safely and monitor patient response, ensuring adherence to NMC and local protocols.
• Delegate tasks appropriately, ensuring safe and effective workload management across the shift.
• Uphold a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with infection prevention, safeguarding, medicines management, and risk reporting procedures.
• Act as a key contact for patients and their families, offering clinical updates, reassurance, and information to support shared decision‑making.
• Liaise effectively with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure smooth transitions between services.

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with active NMC registration.
• Significant post‑registration experience in an acute or relevant clinical setting.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and support a nursing team.
• Strong clinical decision‑making, problem‑solving and time management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient‑focused approach.
• Confidence in working independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Previous experience in a senior or supervisory nursing role is desirable.
