We are looking for an experienced and motivated Band 6 Sexual Health Nurse to join our bank team, supporting a dynamic and fast‑paced sexual health service. This role offers an autonomous practitioner position within a multidisciplinary team, delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care across a wide range of sexual health and contraception services.
Essential Clinical Requirements- Subdermal Implant Fitter & Remover (LOC SDI-IR)
- IUD/IUS Fitter & Remover competency
These are non‑negotiable requirements and must be evidenced with relevant certification.
Job Responsibilities- Provide nurse‑led clinics for sexual health, contraception, and STI management.
- Deliver and manage long‑acting reversible contraception (LARC) including implants and IUD/IUS.
- Support patients with screening, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing care.
- Offer health promotion, education and counselling to improve patient outcomes.
- Manage your own caseload autonomously while contributing to team‑based care.
- Support the day‑to‑day running of clinics and ensure smooth service delivery.
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to junior colleagues.
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with valid NMC registration.
- FSRH Diploma (or equivalent) in contraception.
- STIF Foundation (Intermediate desirable).
- Experience working in sexual health services (Band 6 or experienced Band
5). - Competence in implant and IUD/IUS fitting & removal.
- Experience working with Patient Group Directions (PGDs).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously.
- Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Travel across Coventry & Warwickshire is required.
Desirable- Non‑Medical Prescriber qualification.
- Experience in HIV care, STI symptomatic screening or sexual health advising.
- Teaching or mentorship experience.
- High‑impact clinical area supporting community health.
