Staff Nurse

A Staff Nurse post on the Rehabilitation and Recovery ward at Priory Hospital Solihull, a 31-bed level 2 rehabilitation service for male patients supporting the NHS. The work centres on person-centred nursing care for a defined group of patients, including care planning, medicines management and supporting newly qualified staff through preceptorship. It is a full-time role of 37.5 hours a week, rotating across days, nights, weekdays and bank holidays.

Applicants must be a registered mental health nurse (RMN) with active NMC registration.

• Assess, plan, deliver and review nursing care for a defined group of patients
• Monitor patients' conditions and respond to changes in their needs
• Maintain accurate care plans and promote patient choice
• Prioritise and delegate nursing duties
• Act as nurse in charge when required
• Manage medicines safely
• Address concerns and complaints
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment
• Support newly qualified staff through preceptorship
• Take part in clinical supervision, reflective practice, meetings and professional development
• Work collaboratively with patients, families, carers and the multidisciplinary team
• Follow safeguarding requirements, the Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, the NMC Code and organisational policies

• Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
• Active NMC registration

• 6-12 months post registration experience

• Knowledge of NMC guidelines and professional practice

• Completed preceptorship programme

• Experience on a rehabilitation and recovery ward
