Veterinary Surgeon

Veterinary Surgeon Full or Part Time Considered | up to £65,000 DOE

Beehive Vets is looking for a veterinary surgeon to join our team in Rothwell, Leeds. We welcome applications for full-time or part-time hours, and there’s flexibility to discuss what works for you.

The role comes with no out-of-hours commitment and just 1 in 3 Saturday mornings.

Beehive Vets was founded in 2022 by husband-and-wife team Esther and Luke with a simple aim: to create the kind of practice they’d want to work in themselves. As an independent practice, we make decisions based on what’s best for our patients, clients and team – not corporate targets.

Since opening, we’ve built a strong reputation for high‑quality medicine and genuine client relationships. Our clients are loyal, dedicated pet owners – many of whom are insured – and they trust us to do the right thing for their animals.

• Appointments are 15 minutes
  , with dedicated time built into consulting days to work up cases properly
• At least one dedicated surgical day per week
  , with ops days kept separate from consulting
• We work cases up in-house rather than referring early – you’ll have the equipment and the time to do that
• Consulting days are structured to minimise unnecessary pressure, with breaks to think
• Finish times are 6:30 or 7:00 depending on your shift
  , and consults end 30 minutes before closing to ensure people leave on time
• Certificates are supported and actively encouraged
• We currently have a team of four vets and five RVNs
• We have two post graduate certificate holder vets (Cert AVP and PgC Cardiology) and two certificate holder nurses

Every member of our nursing team is an RVN. Nurses lead on bloods, catheter placement and their own clinics, which means vets can focus on clinical decision‑making rather than routine tasks. They’re heavily involved in anaesthesia, inpatient care and case management. It’s a genuine team effort.

We’ve invested significantly in what we have on site:

• Advanced ultrasound
• Endoscopy (flexible and rigid)
• Laparoscopy
• Digital x‑ray and digital dental x‑ray
• Full in‑house laboratory
• Modern surgical facilities

You’re a vet who wants to actually practice good medicine. You like working cases up, you appreciate a well‑run nursing team, and you’d rather work somewhere that backs your clinical judgement than somewhere that counts your consults.
