We are currently recruiting a Senior Analyst (Livestock) to provide research, analysis and insights on livestock market information and to communicate these findings to AHDB and its levy payers. This role will work on a hybrid basis – two to three days at our HQ in Coventry and the rest working remotely.
Responsibilities- Prepare and disseminate analysis, interpretation and commentary relating to livestock commodity markets, farm businesses and the broader economic environment.
- Work across one or more analytical areas as required to ensure timely delivery of outputs by the team and wider division.
- Collaborate with Lead Analysts, Analysts and Trainee Analysts to produce relevant analysis with accurate and clear conclusions.
- Manage and undertake specific analytical projects as agreed with the line manager.
- Lead detailed research on specific topics, producing written outputs with key messages clearly communicated.
- Maintain close contact with industry, academics, government and media to keep information relevant and effectively disseminated.
- Maintain significant contact with internal and external stakeholders and regularly perform presentations to levy payers and interested parties.
- Serve as a key contact in the division for members of the industry and high‑profile stakeholders regarding analysis conducted.
- Significant experience in preparing and delivering economic/market analysis, ideally within the agriculture sector.
- Professional qualification to at least degree standard in economics, agriculture or another numerate discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience of using modern IT applications including Excel and PowerPoint;
Power BI is preferred. - High level of attention to detail.
- Excellent planning, organisational and project management skills.
- Experience of leading a small team.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- 35 hours per week with hybrid working.
- 33 days of annual leave plus one privilege day (inclusive of bank holidays).
