The RoleAs a Research Fellow within the Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience (CAWR) you will undertake and play a lead role in the development of impactful research and consultancy activity. Developing and identifying new research objectives, proposals, and impact activities for your own or joint research, while contributing to t rated nationally/internationally excellent.
You will apply innovative research methods and extend the research portfolio including the publication of your research results and outcomes. Building internal and external networks for the exchange of information and future collaboration, sharing information, and identifying potential sources of funds will play a key part of this role.
Contributing to teaching, learning and development programmes as appropriate, you will use research findings to inform curriculum development while assisting in the development of student research skills.
Qualifications RequiredPhD in climate or hydrological sciences, or professional experience equivalent to a PhD demonstrating an ability to carry out independent research with a 1st Class/2.1 Degree in PhD in climate or hydrological sciences.
Our Successful CandidateWe are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Research Fellow with demonstrable expert knowledge and understanding of hydroclimate, climate and hydrological modelling, computer programming – including experience contributing to the innovation and development of the field. An advanced knowledge of research methods and techniques with demonstratable adherence to all regulations, you will have the ability to develop research objectives, projects, and proposals for own and joint research.
Research sufficient to write up research and produce excellent, high-quality publications in high profile peer reviewed journals and present at national/international events, you will be committed to working collaboratively on research development, delivery and dissemination including interdisciplinary or cross‑disciplinary research, public engagement, and knowledge exchange.
You will have previous experience of active involvement in research at university level, with advanced knowledge of research methods and techniques used in climate and hydrological sciences (e.g., advanced knowledge of R, Python and other high‑level programming languages, advanced knowledge of climate and hydrological modelling).
