AboutThe Role
This part‑time role is part of a job share. The standard working days for the successful candidate will be Wednesday to Friday. The Sustainability Champion (Ecology and Biodiversity) is a key role within the Energy and Sustainability team – it provides an opportunity to enact real change at scale and to improve the campus environment for both people and planet.
You will be working with a wide range of colleagues, collaborating with operational teams, academic researchers, students, professional services and external partners to design and deliver ecology enhancement and biodiversity net gain (BNG) projects across campus.
This role is varied in nature and encompasses elements of project and operations management, data collection and analysis, stakeholder engagement, events, supporting education and research, and championing sustainable behaviour change.
About YouThe ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for protecting and enhancing spaces for wildlife to thrive. They will have an understanding of habitat management in semi‑urban spaces and the challenges associated with people and wildlife living side‑by‑side. They will be able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, communicate effectively and be an advocate for biodiversity within a complex organisation.
They will have the interpersonal skills to work collaboratively to make positive changes to our campus environment, enabling both biodiversity net gain and access to nature for our Warwick community.
