About the Role

We are looking for an exceptional systematic reviewer to join our ambitious and rapidly expanding Warwick Screening team. This permanent position requires the successful candidate to lead reviews—including conducting and publishing evidence maps, rapid reviews, and systematic reviews of clinical effectiveness, test accuracy, and cost-effectiveness—directly informing the UK National Screening Committee and national screening policy. The role also involves expanding the teaching programme of Warwick Screening, creating an online version of the existing Health Screening module, tailoring the module for an international audience and developing resources for professionals in industry.

You will contribute to grant applications, publications and will grow into an independent researcher within Warwick Screening.

Flexible Working

We will consider applications for employment on a part‑time or other flexible working basis (e.g. job share), despite the position being advertised as full‑time.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and conduct systematic reviews, evidence maps, and rapid reviews on health screening topics.
  • Publish findings to support UK national screening policy.
  • Expand and deliver the Warwick Screening teaching programme, including online content and international outreach.
  • Collaborate across multiple research projects, contribute to grant writing and academic publications.
  • Actively engage with national policy makers and contribute to the development of high‑impact screening research.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Excellent first degree and a PhD in a relevant field.
  • Postdoctoral experience undertaking multiple systematic reviews—ideally within health screening or health policy.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Methodical, confident navigating tight timelines, supporting colleagues, and contributing to world‑leading screening research.
  • Strong communication, highly organised, motivated, and capable of leading upwards when needed.
About the Department

Warwick Screening is a multidisciplinary team of trialists, researchers, systematic reviewers, epidemiologists, health economists, and statisticians who deliver primary research, methodological research and evidence synthesis to underpin national and international policy in health screening. We are part of the Warwick Applied Health directorate within Warwick Medical School.
