Retail Garden Shop Volunteer

Assist Kew Retail Garden shop staff with customer service, plant care and area upkeep in the indoor and outdoor Garden shop located in the Victoria Plaza.

Volunteers typically commit one day per week, with a suggested shift of 10am‑4pm. Opportunities are available every day of the week.

• Provide customer interaction, giving plant care advice and answering questions.
• Perform plant care tasks such as watering, dead‑heading and pruning.
• Sweep and tidy shop areas.
• Assist with the setup and distribution of plant and plant‑related stock deliveries.
• Use hand tools safely and follow workplace safety procedures.

• Interest and enthusiasm for hands‑on plant care.
• Practical horticultural knowledge and experience.
• Ability to commit to a regular placement (minimum 12 months, with a minimum of 24 volunteer days per year for indefinite placement).
• Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to work as part of a team.
• Ability to perform tasks safely without endangering yourself or others.
• Flexible and willing to provide support where necessary.
