Relief Security Officer

Job Overview

Relief Security Officer across B&Q Stores in Coventry and surrounding areas. Minimum 10 hours per week with option to cover more. Rate: £12.91 per hour.

• Protect customers' property, people, and assets in accordance with the site-published Assignment Instructions and any subsequent changes.
• Deliver results that meet or exceed the key performance indicators / service level agreement for the customer, taking full responsibility and accountability for the service.
• Fully complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions.
• Proactively review the Assignment Instructions, familiarise yourself with any changes, and suggest amendments that improve service quality.
• Ensure compliance with all policies, legal, and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK law and guidance bodies.
• Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
• Use common sense and initiative to involve others if a situation becomes threatening.
• Look out for and immediately report any health & safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
• Stay alert to threats or changes in the work environment to reduce chances of disruption, loss, or damage.
• Complete accurate, detailed notebook entries for incidents for the Incident Report process.
• Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
• Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions.
• Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.

• Obtain and renew a front‑line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision, and carry it at all times while on duty.
• Obtain and maintain a CCTV PSS SIA Licence.
• Take required additional courses as contractually specified.
• Complete all required competency training.
• Renew licence 16 weeks before expiry.
• Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge through ongoing professional development.

• Previous security experience.
• Valid SIA licence.
• Security clearance (SC clearance desirable).
