About the Role
WMG is seeking an Assistant Professor (Teaching Focussed) with experience in Cyber Security and practice‑led digital technologies. The position focuses on delivering and developing modules in Cyber Security, including Security Operations Centres, Threat Hunting, SIEM technologies, network traffic analysis, proactive Cyber Defence, Human Behaviour in Cyber Security, consultancy, and digital forensics.
Responsibilities- Deliver and enhance high‑quality, practice‑led Cyber Security modules to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Translate professional practice into engaging learning experiences.
- Contribute to the development of new or existing Cyber Security module content.
- Support industry engagement and collaboration with academic and professional partners.
- Doctorate (or equivalent professional qualification with a postgraduate qualification) in Cyber Security or a closely related discipline.
- Experience of teaching within higher education or professional education.
- Demonstrated expertise in SOC operations, threat hunting, incident response, SIEM platforms, network traffic analysis, human behaviour in cyber security, cybersecurity consultancy, risk management and security governance.
The successful candidate will have strong practical and industry‑focused experience, proven ability to engage students, and a passion for delivering high‑quality education. Candidates with strong research outputs but limited teaching experience are unlikely to be shortlisted.
